Tim has spent 30 years in the medical industry spanning several therapeutic areas and including industry, investment and healthcare services. Previously Tim was CEO of Moonray Healthcare a private equity fund investing proprietary capital from Fidelity into healthcare businesses. Landmark investments include Optegra for which Tim was also CEO and built from zero to 23 specialist eye hospitals spanning UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and China. Rayner is a 100-year-old UK Company, which manufactured the world’s first intra-ocular lens in 1949. Tim was appointed CEO in 2015 following a period as non-executive director to lead the strategic expansion of the company. Recently this has included the disposal of Rayner’s retail optometry business and a number of acquisitions intended to strengthen the core business in implantable lenses and pharmaceuticals focused on improving the visual outcomes of cataract surgery. In 2017 Tim led a management buy in with Phoenix Equity Partners.
