Dr. T. Rajgopal is currently Vice President, Global Medical and Occupational Health, for Unilever. He is also a member of Unilever’s Global Safety and Health Leadership Team (SHLT). He is responsible for providing strategy and leadership in comprehensive medical and occupational health services covering more than 165,000 employees worldwide. Dr Rajgopal is a member of Unilever’s Global Cluster and Category Human Resources Leadership Team (CCHRLT) and contributes to global leadership development agenda, learning and talent management, performance reviews and governance in human resources. He has represented Unilever as a Leadership Board member of the Workplace Wellness Alliance of the World Economic Forum and as a thought leader in the Global Diabetes Forum. Dr. Rajgopal is on the steering committee of the Institute of Health and Productivity Management (IHPM), which now incorporates The World Economic Forum’s Workplace Wellness Alliance. Dr. Rajgopal holds postgraduate qualifications in Preventive Medicine, Public Health, Occupational Medicine and in Health and Hospital Administration. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, London as well as a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, Ireland. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Indian Association of Occupational Health and the Indian Public Health Association. Dr. Rajgopal is an alumnus of the University of California, School of Public Health, Berkeley, having completed their Global Health Leadership Forum program in 2013-2014. (Berkeley and Kings Fund, London). Dr. Rajgopal underwent training at the Harvard School of Public Health in Advanced Leadership Strategies for Health Care Executives (2002), The Analysis, Scientific Assessment and Management of Risks (September 2005), Health Care Management for Physician Executives (June 2007) and Update in General Internal Medicine (February 2013). He was the Chairman of Medichem (Association of doctors in the chemical industry worldwide - 2007 – 2013) and Board member of the International Commission on Occupational Health. [ICOH: 2000 – 2003]. In 2014 the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) honored him with the Distinguished Service Award for 2013-2014. He is a recipient of the prestigious Dr B C Roy National Award (2016) in the field of Medicine (Socio- Medical Relief) – the award was given away by the Honorable President of India. In 2017 the Institute of Health and Productivity Management bestowed on him the President’s Award for Global Leadership in Health and Productivity Management. He is a certified independent director having completed the accreditation program for non- executive/independent directors conducted by Hunt Partners in partnership with KPMG, Board Evaluations Limited UK, and S P Jain Business School, (3rd Accredited Certification Program for Independent / Non-Executive Directors | 13 - 15 April 2014 | Mumbai), and is a part of the Directors Club, India. Dr Rajgopal also serves as a Non-Executive Independent Director on the Board of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise India.
